Description
A watercolor view looking up the trunk of a stately winter Aspen whose branches reach out across a vivid blue Colorado sky in Gunnison County, CO, as if in celebration! When friends experience a joy in their lives, this image expresses my acknowledgement of their happiness.

Hi Again Barbara this is so beautiful I can feel the cool air as I gaze up into the tree so beautifully caught by you.............great water colour control have you gummed the branches ? the sky is superb :) f/v
Barbara Jewell replied:
Hi Sandra! I have never heard the term "gummed" before, but I am guessing it's what we call "masking," with a liquid, rubber-type material:-) And yes, I did use masking fluid on all but the biggest white branches so that when I painted the sky I could do it in one smooth wash. Thanks again for your thoughtful comments.
