Description
The inspiration for this piece came during a walk through the wooded area behind our church where people often go for some quiet time. Looking up through the maple leaves, the patterns from the filtered sunlight reminded me that like it or not, life inevitably involves both the light of the "good" times along with the contrasting "darker" experiences of doubt, fear, and loneliness, along with others of life's challenges. Behind the maples stood old, stately, towering pines as a symbol of God's promise to be our ever-present strength and guide throughout life's journey.
