Artist's Description
This watercolor is a mono print, made by painting the surface of an object with paint which is then pressed onto the surface of the paper. The image was then "embellished" with a fine line black Sharpie pen for added detail. Watery blue paint sprinkled with salt completed the background.
About Barbara Jewell
I have been seriously involved in watercolor painting for the last 20 years following retirement from my public school teaching career. Having the time to paint, along with the freedom from the need to make a living at the same time, has opened many wonderful new opportunities, friendships and experiences for me. I am a frequent exhibitor in art shows at the local, regional, state and national levels, having been honored to receive numerous awards for my work. My painting style is realistic. I am drawn to detail and favor the use of vivid color. I enjoy painting a variety of subject matter, but the glorious world of nature is what seems to suit me best. Many of my paintings reflect time spent outdoors, especially in the mountains...
