This watercolor was made by the monoprinting method whereby paint is applied to an object, then pressed onto the surface of the paper. The resulting image was then "embellished" with a black, fine line sharpie pen. Watery blue paint for the surrounding water with some added salt finished the painting.
I have been seriously involved in watercolor painting for the last 20 years following retirement from my public school teaching career. Having the time to paint, along with the freedom from the need to make a living at the same time, has opened many wonderful new opportunities, friendships and experiences for me. I am a frequent exhibitor in art shows at the local, regional, state and national levels, having been honored to receive numerous awards for my work. My painting style is realistic. I am drawn to detail and favor the use of vivid color. I enjoy painting a variety of subject matter, but the glorious world of nature is what seems to suit me best. Many of my paintings reflect time spent outdoors, especially in the mountains...
